Birth Trauma Support Ireland

As a midwife, public health nurse for over 13 years I have seen firsthand the impact of a woman’s birth experience. I trained year long, as a Birth Trauma Practitioner in the United Kingdom in 2019.

As a midwife who participated in more than 200 mothers’ births and as a fully trained GentleBirth educator, I’ll empower you to have a confident attitude towards your pregnancy and birth. I can work with any person that has experienced a difficult birth experience or pregnancy or related trauma.

I’m also active online and have set up a support group on Facebook called ‘Birth Trauma Support Ireland’, and you can visit my ‘Restorative Birth Services’ Facebook page for more information.

Receive Individualized Treatment

Many women may also experience low mood but there is a significant difference to postnatal depression both in its treatment and presentation.

The Birth Trauma Resolution Therapy I trained in was developed by a psychotherapist in the UK called Jenny Mullan. Jenny has dedicated 20 years to this work and the therapy has been expertly collated and designed to ensure women receive individualized treatment.

Feel Well More Quickly

Having worked for nearly a decade and a half in supporting women in the postnatal period, I have witnessed the treatment to be very effective, enabling women feeling well more quickly within a few sessions.

There is an increase in their confidence, their relationships, how they relate to their baby and their community. PTSD post-birth is an area that needs more discussion and awareness. Women can also experience these symptoms several years after birth, PTSD is a diagnosable condition and women deserve to be treated with kindness and respect.
